2022: A year of self discovery and self reflection

“Every day, life teaches us a lesson. Sometimes we become aware, but many go unnoticed”. The year 2022 was a rollercoaster of emotions and lessons learned. My experiences are distilled into ten succinct takeaways that are worth sharing and reflecting on.   1.        Importance of reflecting on loved ones            Start your day and end it with thoughts about your loved ones. Their significance in shaping your life and expressing your gratitude for their presence. It can bring you a sense of comfort, love, and positivity to your day and even transcend into a greater sense of well-being and happiness.   2.         Manifest your dreams into reality                 As the saying goes, ‘The universe conspires’. Every day with positive affirmations and manifestation techniques, we can unlock the energy in ourselves and it attracts you to your dream goal. Baudouin Technique helped me to clearly visualize my dreams and achieve them. This helped to shift my mindset and focus on my goals. Howe

A New Beginning

That night was cold, with winds that howled. Rumbling thunder and the sky was lit up by lightning bolts. Then, the rains lashed. I kissed my baby’s forehead. Gently caressed her curly hair. With a heavy heart, I closed the doors gently. My mother was sick and sleeping next door, I shook and told her: “it’s time”.   “They are really heavy”. My dad pointed to the two big suitcases. My wife was nodding to his rough calculations. Maybe it’s my aspirations, dreams, and hopes that made it heavy - I thought. We three squeezed into the back seat of the cab and it sped through the pitch-dark flooded roads of Bangalore. I was gazing through the windows as raindrops dripped down the windows in a uniform pattern while the street light gave them a golden color.  Something that I always enjoyed during a journey.   She held my hands so tight throughout the journey and I knew how much we would miss each other until the next time. So many thoughts passed my mind like the boxcars of a never-

Malik – A dialectical ingenuity

Well-articulated and carefully knit storyline, drawn into the canvas by a brilliant cinematography and given life by a crew of finest actors and technicians. When Malik transcends the borders of “Ramadhappally” and reach the comforts of your living room, you will be lost in the conscience of Ali and Roseline on the shoreline. When the film pans through decades of events, it portrays how the evident harmony between communities vanish into thin air.   The frame of Christ with Open Arms embracing the people of ‘Ramadappally’ is the writer’s message to those who finds it difficult to embrace another religion and their beliefs.           As the plot unravels, behold the brilliance of acting and filmmaking at its epitome. The film’s denouement was realistic and the story neither glorifies a crime nor the criminals but it lets the audience witness the dialectical ingenuity.           Evidently Malik has the potential to bring a radical shift in the minds of film makers and th

POBITORA - Pride of India

“Travel becomes an art when nature is the artist”. NorthEast India is beautifully canvassed by the mother nature with its crystalline rivers, pristine landscape, the benign silence of the forests, precarious rapids and warm people. Those eight days in the NorthEast have rejuvenated my soul and would be cherished forever...                                                Across the nation there were protests against the government’s decision on the amendment of the citizenship bill. Travel bans, internet ban and what not!  I took a deep breath when the pilot announced our takeoff from the Kempagowda International Airport, Bangalore. ITINERARY                  A day in Pobitora                  Through the crowded roads of Guwahati city, we drove towards Pobitora. Passing Kamakhya Temple, University of Guwahati we slid towards the highway along the Brahmaputra river. Two hours of

Contemplation

In the turbulence of technological revolution, we are in a rat race. We seldom have time to hear our inner selves as we are chasing the so-called success - defined by others. The focus is to earn more and be on the top of fame, but in that rush & hush we miss to really live the life and imbibe its meaning. I had a life with more have-nots than haves. Success was underrated as an accomplishment of mere physical possessions in life and measured it on others yardstick for a long time. But times have changed, the outlook towards life took a drastic drift. Now, when I sit back and think I understand that Success is not a mere state or destination, but it’s a journey. Success Chasing someone else’s definition of success and constantly falling short has become the norm of the society. Seldom people have their own yardstick to measure their success. Few are too anxious about the future, some engulfed in their past and many of us worried
DOTS OF OUR LIFE . . . W e are an aftereffect of our thoughts, but we seldom realize this fact. Living in the turbulence of a digital era, everything is changing in a fast pace. But we are reluctant to Change, though we know it is inevitable.   It is not because we are incompetent or incapable of what the world demands, but afraid of “failures” .   The failures that can make us broke, take us away from our comfort zones, feel miserable, so on and so forth.   Those thoughts are making us reluctant to change and pursue us to settle. People, bad experiences and previous failures - all can influence our thoughts & in-turn our actions. Despite what our gut feeling insists, we end up weighing all the options and choose to settle up for the most comfortable one- Low Risk and High Profit. Eckhart says, “All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present.”       S tress, anxiety, fear are all caused by too much future and not enou

Mehrangarh Fort                   “A Palace that might have been built by the Titans and colored by the morning sun “                                                                                                                                – Rudyard Kipling                            Mehrangarh Fort , huge and a stout structure rising perpendicular from a rocky hill is a marvelous architectural magnificence that no one should miss while visiting Jodhpur, Rajasthan.                       Visiting such great forts enrich us with its rich heritage and historical importance. Every time we travel to such sites we would be enthralled by the brilliance of the technology and architecture that they imbibed in creating such massive structures irrespective of its purpose in that era.             Drive time of 15 minutes from Jodhpur Airport to the Mehrangarh Fort makes it the most easily accessible destination.  Reached the fort entrance by 4 PM and
